Hi Beverly Heights!
My name is Ryan Shannahan, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the Community Connector, a new board position with the Beverly Heights Community League.
I became involved with the league because I believe a strong community is about more than the neighbourhood we happen to live in. It’s about knowing the people around us, creating opportunities to come together, and making sure residents feel like there’s a place for them here.
That’s really what my role as Community Connector is all about.
I’ll be working to help connect residents with the community league, welcome new neighbours to Beverly, recruit and support volunteers, build relationships with local organizations and businesses, and help create and promote events that give people a reason to get involved.
You’ll probably see me around quite a bit. I’m involved with our Welcome to Beverly program, volunteer coordination, community events, Community League Day, Pride initiatives, and other projects aimed at bringing people together.
One of my biggest goals is making it easier for people to take that first step into the community league. You don’t have to join a committee or volunteer for twenty hours to be involved. Sometimes it starts with attending an event, volunteering for one shift, sharing an idea, or simply introducing yourself.
Beverly has an incredible history and a strong sense of community, and I’m excited to help build on that while finding new ways for neighbours to connect.
