December and January were busy months for BHCL with a lot of exciting events. As such, we had a lot to discuss at our January board meeting. Here are some of the highlights for you:
- We approved two new policies – Honourary Lifetime Membership and Rental Discounts. Thank you to our Rentals Subcommittee for all your hard work!
- Thank you to Sport Central, who donated 13 pairs of skates to our community rink. This allows us to offer free rentals to our community league members. We now have a variety of sizes from 2 through 12. If you have any gently used skates and/or helmets you would like to donate, please drop them off at our rink building.
- January 28 will be our Introduction to Karate Freebie Night! Interested in seeing what karate is all about? Have questions about our new program? Please come down and join in! The regular schedule will apply:
- 6:00 – 7:00 – Youth/Family Class
- 7:00 – 8:00 – Adult Class
- 8:00 – 9:00 – Kobudo (Weapons) Class

- Ticket sales are underway for the 49th Annual Variety Show. We always need more volunteers for this event, so if you would like to volunteer, please let us know. You can either email us at varietyshow.bhcl@gmail.com or use our online form.
- Taste of Greece will be happening on April 13. For more information, see our Events webpage.
- Our Casino is happening this weekend – January 19 & 20. A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for making this fundraiser a success.

- April 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm will be our Annual General Meeting. Please note there will be several positions up for election. You can review the position descriptions here.
- April 26, 2019 will be our Volunteer Appreciation Evening. More details to come as we plan this event to celebrate our wonderful volunteers.
As always, community league members are welcome to attend our meetings. Our next meeting will be on February 12 at 6:30.
